Finger Music names Emmalou Johnson head of business development

LONDON — Finger Music (http://fingermusic.tv) has appointed Emmalou Johnson head of business development at their London location. In her new role, she will work to expand Finger Music’s presence in the UK and Europe, and develop the company’s relationships. Finger Music has offices in London, New York and Los Angeles. The studio specializes in creating audio for commercials, films, television, new media and video games.

Johnson’s appointment continues a career that has seen her produce for a number of high profile agencies, production companies and sound studios. As a freelance senior producer, she has worked for agencies that include Leo Burnett Group UK, Mother London, BBH and CHI & Parners. She later went full time as a senior TV producer at AMV BBDO.

Over the last few years Johnson has also worked as head of strategy at Major Tom. To her new role, she brings her formidable reputation and longstanding love for music. Having grown up in a musical household, Johnson later specialized in music production at university.

“Finger Music is a very well-established company, with a fantastic reputation and a brilliant showreel,” she says. “Originally, when I came to London 20 years ago (gulp!), I had wanted to work in the music industry. I ended up falling into advertising production, but had always fancied moving back into the field of music somehow. This role presented the perfect opportunity to come full circle. In my new role, I’ll be looking to expand Finger’s reach in Europe and build on the stellar reputations they have established in the UK and USA.”

“It’s rare in commercials production to find somebody who has experience across all parts of the business, from agency to production to audio post,” says John Murrell, partner and executive producer at Finger Music. “Emmalou has worked in all of these areas and totally understands how they connect. What’s more, she has great contacts and is hugely respected within the industry. In her new role, she will be engaging new clients and seeking new opportunities for us. We’ve built up a strong reputation and a diverse roster of clients at Finger Music over the years but we are always on the lookout for the new and interesting creative partnerships.”
