Therapy Content’s long time collaborators, design company Visual Creatures, directed and animated the short film, creating a surreal and enticingly creepy 2D world to perfectly match Grohl’s storytelling energy. Eddie Kim of Therapy Studios helmed the sound design for the project, not only capturing Grohl’s many voices but layering in music and sound effects to bring the whole thing to life.
The short continues the longstanding creative relationship between Dave Grohl and Therapy Content, having previously worked together on the Grammy-winning 2013 documentary Sound City, the Emmy and Grammy-winning HBO docuseries Sonic Highways, and numerous Foo Fighters’ music videos, including Run and The Sky Is A Neighborhood.
Visual Creatures credits include directors John Cranston and Ryan McNeely; art direction by John Cranston, Joe Garber and Ryan McNeely; and illustration by Joe Garber. Tita Poe served as animation producer. Animators included Joe Garber, Oliver Wee, Geoff Ciccarelli, Janet Kim, Amanda Hyunh and Aly Tain. Geoff Ciccarelli handled the rigging.
Therapy Studios’ Brandon Kim and Dillon Cahill provided additional sound design.
