Rainbow Broadband meets aE|Media's Internet demands

NEW YORK — Rainbow Broadband (www.rainbowbroadband.com), a network made specifically for New York City businesses, is providing aE|Media’s multiple media production and post production facilities with high-speed Internet and network managed services. Brian Wick is the CTO of the Greenwich Village-based aE|Media, which includes editorial house State of Flux, graphics firm Hey Beautiful Jerk, Shout It Out Loud Music, live action production company Claude Von Kirk, and audio post house audioEngine. The collective studios’ files place big demands on their network, and speedy turnaround is critical. Rainbow Broadband is helping their workflow by providing 300 Mbps connections.

“At aE|Media one minute you’re working on audio equipment, and the next minute you’re on to video – installing systems, downloading software, and maintaining everything in the facility,” Wick says. “We don’t want to have to worry about whether the Internet is working, or if we’re experiencing packet loss. Rainbow’s performance is always terrific – it just doesn’t fail.”

After experiencing its proven dependability as an Internet provider, Wick and aE|Media CEO Bob Giammarco looked to Rainbow Broadband for further services, including VoIP phones, firewalls, routers and Wi-Fi.

“We have multiple companies here,” notes Wick. “We needed to keep them from seeing each other, while still allowing them to share printers. Our clients come in needing to get online with multiple devices to work with all different kinds of files. They need their connects to be fast and remain steady as they are in the facility. Rainbow Broadband set it up so that they can go from one floor to another, with a perfect handoff every time.”
