SANTA MONICA — Arcade (www.arcadeedit.com) editor Paul Martinez recently collaborated with director Mark Romanek on Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop the Feeling!, which is the official music video for DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature film,
Trolls. The video was produced by Anonymous Content and shot by DP Jody Lee Lipes using an Arri Alexa Mini with Vantage One T1 prime lenses.
The song debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart when it was released in mid-May. In the video, Justin Timberlake is shown singing inside a retro LA diner, as well as outdoors, in front of a retro Chevy Camaro. Footage of the entertainer is intercut with other everyday people, who are dancing to the track while at their respective jobs. Locations include a restaurant, barbershop, grocery story, and florist, among others.
Martinez cut the music video on an Avid Media Composer. Arcade’s Dean Miyahira served as assistant editor on the project, which was colored by Stefan Sonnenfeld at Company 3. John Bolen at Formosa performed the mix, with Herman Thumann assisting.
