LOS ANGELES — Geoffrey Mann has changed the name of his music library, Moss Landing Music, to Black Sheep Music (www.blacksheep-music.com). Founded in 2006 as a boutique music library specializing in sound design and musical compositions for motion picture trailers, television promos and video games, Moss Landing Music focused on original, modern compositions that bridge the gap between music and sound design. The library is comprised of a collection of tunes crafted to inspire the editing process and to facilitate the dramatic transitions that are essential to creating excitement in effective advertising.
Moss Landing’s cues have been featured in a wide variety of trailers for TV shows that include Prison Break, 24, Disturbia, The Good Wife, Orange is the New Black and The Walking Dead. The company’s video game trailer credits include Call of Duty and World of Warcraft, while its film trailer contributions include
The Dark Knight Rises, Iron Man 3, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers Of Benghazi, Zero Dark Thirty, Argo, How To Train Your Dragon, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Joy, The Martian, The Revenant, Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation and American Sniper.
“Black Sheep Music is a natural extension of our work as Moss Landing Music,” says Mann. “We are working with a number of progressive composers with modern sensibilities and avant-garde techniques to provide a great balance of cues in a multitude of styles which will be refreshed regularly and can be used for all genres.”
Tracks from the new Black Sheep Music catalogue will be heard this summer in trailers for Independence Day: Resurgence, War Dogs and Ice Age: Collision Course.
