SANTA MONICA — Duck Grossberg has joined Local Hero Post (www.localheropost.com) as their new chief technology officer. The boutique, which specializes in post services for features and independent films, is currently expanding the dailies component of its end-to-end workflow services.
Grossberg has held a multitude of technical roles over the past 15 years, working alongside facilities such as the Creative Cartel, Deluxe Laboratories, The Post Group, Modern VideoFilm, Cameron/Pace, Tyler Perry Studios and 20th Century Fox. As a DIT, digital lab supervisor and colorist (dailies and on-set) Grossberg’s credits include the films Real Steel, Life of Pi, and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, as well as TV shows such as Dig, Tyrant and Sleepy Hollow. In his new role, he will drive the overall technology vision for the studio and help fuel its growing virtual reality business.
“I’m incredibly excited about joining the Local Hero team at this point in their history,” says Grossberg. “They’re an established facility with an impeccable reputation, whose growth is on the verge of exploding in the coming year. I can’t imagine a better place to both contribute and grow in equal measure.”
“Local Hero experienced exponential growth in our core dailies, DI, VFX and finishing businesses in 2015,” adds Leandro Marini, founder and president of Local Hero. “We also saw rapid growth in our VR dailies and finishing business, delivering nearly 20 projects for clients such as Fox, Jaunt Studios, and the NFL. The addition of Duck is a crucial component to our expansion at Local Hero. The combination of his technical prowess, creative skills and client experience make him uniquely positioned to help drive our aggressive growth. We’re thrilled to welcome him to our executive team.”
