SANTA CLARA, CA — Assimilate (www.assimilatinc.com) is expanding its Scratch Web capabilities to offer a professional, cloud-based dailies/review tool for reviewing immersive VR content anywhere in the world. Scratch Web offers pros a secure, easy to use and fast solution for the review of 360 VR content.
Current users of Scratch post production software and the Scratch Play media player can directly publish raw media, along with metadata, to Scratch Web for immediate team review. Scratch and Scratch Play software function as creative hosts, as well as the encoding and upload client. Three levels of user-permissions are then available: administrator, publisher and subscriber.
All content is stored securely on Microsoft’s Azure platform. When creating a channel, Scratch Web users have the ability to determine the geographical location of the server. For global use, the server hub can be located anywhere. However, for more local use, it is possible to choose the location of the server according to the client’s location, hence enabling faster connections. Scratch Web features a public and a private section. The private section is meant for work-in-progress with clients, while the public section is meant to be used for a company’s showreels, or finished and released content. The public section of Scratch Web can be accessed by anyone without needing to register for a Scratch Web account. Both public and private sections can have an unlimited number of channels and publications. The only limit is the purchased quota of space for content.
