NEW YORK — Director director Eric Cunha and the team at Aardman Nathan Love (http://aardman.nathanlove.com) recently partnered with agency Avrett Free Ginsberg to produce an oddball, yet memorable cast of characters in the form of mutated super lice. The commercial for Prestige Brands uses CG animation to promote the effectiveness of its Nix lice treatment, which can kill even this new generation of “Super Lice.”
“It’s easy to gross out an audience when portraying bugs on screen,” says Cunha, “so AFG was interested in creating a really stylized world with appealing character designs.”
James Elio served as head of production. Cunha handled modeling and Jin Fang Jiang created textures. Lukas Wadya took care of the rigging and Tom Shek and Thaddaeus Andreades animated the characters. Ellen Su, Jim McKenzie and Matt DeFranco all contributed to the motion graphics.
The live action of the mother and her son was produced by Zoomari Films, with Rob McEnamy serving as director of photography.
