NEW YORK — World-Voices Organization (WoVO) is a growing industry association of freelance voice talent. The organization recently launched its exclusive Professional Member voice talent directory online at voiceover.biz.
According to Dan Lenard (pictured), who serves as the organization’s VP of technical standards, WoVO built the site for voice seekers in order to help them save time when looking for the right voice. The Website provides an easy-to-use search engine that allows users to view member profiles and demos. WoVO members that are listed on the site have undergone a rigorous peer review process, says Lenard. “They have proven they have the talent, skill, extensive experience and technical facilities to be called professionals. They can provide anyone seeking voice talent exactly what that talent seeker requires, in the many different genres of material requiring a professional voice.”
WoVO members are both union and non-union. Talent seekers who visit the site can browse members’ demos in different categories and invite as many as five voice talent to audition. Communication between the talent seeker and the talent are private. There is no middle man.
There is no cost to register as a talent seeker on Voiceover.biz. Voice talent pay approximately $75 for vetting and the first year of membership. Once a client is registered as a talent seeker, they will have access to the entire roster, where they can search and find the talent they require for direct invitation, or by posting an exclusive call for auditions.
In the interest of maintaining the high professional standards, projects proposed here must meet a minimum budget requirement of $250 for corporate/industrial recordings, and be fair market rate for TV or radio, depending on broadcast coverage and cycle length.
