CHICAGO — Design-driven production company Sarofsky (http://sarofsky.com) created the main-on-end titles featured in The Marvel Studios’ latest superhero feature, Ant-Man. Directed by Peyton Reed, the film debuted on July 17th. The work continues Sarofsky’s contributions to Marvel releases, as the studio also worked on
Guardians of the Galaxy and
Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang (a.k.a. Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross (a.k.a. Yellowjacket), Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. Armed with the ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind the Ant-Man suit.
Erin Sarofsky and Steven Anderson
According to Sarofsky principal/executive creative director Erin Sarofsky, the studio worked very closely with the director and the executive team. "Peyton Reed, Kevin Feige, Lou D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso and Brad Winderbaum all provided great feedback throughout the entire process, which was even more essential than ever because of the tight production schedule.
"This time around, their confidence in our process and capabilities was even more apparent," she continues. "They gave us more room to explore, and provided feedback that was more ‘big picture' than granular. It's really amazing working with a client that has such high confidence in your skills and problem-solving abilities."
"Not only does this work spotlight our design prowess, we feel it also trumpets our rising talents in the VFX arena," adds executive producer Steven Anderson. "Over the past year, we have been expanding our VFX and finishing offerings to better serve our expanding roster of both entertainment and advertising clients."
Conceptually, the main-on-end titles are intricately connected to the film's overall narrative, says Sarofsky. "We are very excited for audiences around the world to experience what we consider to be our very best work."
