Media Toaster opens Burbank facility

BURBANK, CA — Media Toaster (www.mediatoaster.com) has opened in Burbank, operating as a technology company specializing in content delivery and post production services. The full-service facility offers complete picture editorial services and is equipped with proprietary technology for media delivery to anywhere in the world. The company also offers audio services, including voiceover recording, music, effects and Foley.

Michael Meis is chief technical officer, working alongside director of post production, Mike DeFusco. Both have a long history in the area of content delivery, working in television and feature films. Their combined credits include contributions to The Walking Dead, Black Sails, Power and Spartacus on the television side, and Killing Me Softly, Evil Dead and the Halloween franchise on the film side of the business. Joining the two Mikes is Donavan McDougle, who comes aboard as Media Toaster's director of creative services. This core team has been working together for 20 years.

“Because of the company’s proprietary system, they essentially built an entertainment technology company, designed and engineered to create and deliver content with incomparable efficiency,” says Meis. “By implementing our innovative Media Reimagined workflow system, our clients are able to meet and exceed their goals from content creation to delivery. With our advanced methods of quality control and archiving, we are able to streamline the delivery process and eliminate the gridlock typically encountered by distributors and content providers. Our team at Media Toaster provides clients the ability to achieve global reach, meeting their deadlines in a timeframe that can be measured in hours rather than the typical days or weeks. Additionally, our proprietary and patent pending archival process will take into account all foreign languages locked to picture with metadata, closed captions and subtitles and it's all self-contained within the one single container file. This file with all the necessary check-backs for mastered content and final deliverables can then be pushed out globally over the Internet.”

Media Toaster was designed and built by Nick Smerigan. It’s being financed by H. Blair Hahn, a founding member of the South Carolina-based law firm Richardson Patrick Westbrook & Brickman, LLC. Recently, Hahn entered the entertainment industry with the same drive and determination that created his successful legal career. He has partnered to create Black Bear Studios, a film and television production company and studio in Charleston, SC. In addition, he has launched Producer Capital Fund, an independent film financing company. Hahn has plans to expand Media Toaster to the South Carolina area when the timing is right.
