BURBANK, CA — Like it or not, professional videotape's days are numbered. More and more delivery requirements relegate tape to an archival role or skip the medium altogether. What to do? On Friday, February 27th, the Editors' Lounge will present two solutions designed to help manage tapeless, file-based post production. Cinedeck and Wiredrive will both present hands-on demonstrations.
Cinedeck (www.cinedeck.com) is a direct-to-disc video recording system, compatible with a wide variety of camera sources. It records numerous native formats and is capable of encoding to popular professional codecs. Michael DeMucci, sales & marketing at Cinedeck, will cover the entire product line's features, while editor Howard Brock will present a case study of how Cinedeck was used as an integral part of the production/post workflow for Anger Management.
Wiredrive (www.wiredrive.com) is a secure, scalable platform for collaborative decision-making that offers automatic preview generation, search features, a variety of sharing options, delivery confirmation, review-and-approve, and more. Clay Burton, account executive with Wiredrive, will demonstrate the rich feature set and answer questions.
The Editors’ Lounge event will be held at AlphaDogs Post Production (1612 W. Olive Ave., Suite 200, Burbank, CA 91506) beginning at 6:30pm. It is free to attend, but registration is required (http://www.editorslounge.com).
