LOS ANGELES — At the recent Cinegear 2015 show, Codex (www.codexdigital.com) demonstrated solutions that position the manufacturer as more than a provider of recording solutions.
The Codex Action Cam is a complete shooting, capture, transcoding and data management
solution for situations that require a compact form factor and light weight. Action Cam itself is a tiny remote head camera for shooting at up to 60fps. It comes packaged with the Codex Camera Control Recorder that delivers full remote control of the camera, plus the workflow benefits of the Codex recorder.
At its booth, Codex showed off a VR rig with Codex Action Cams from Headcase VR. The company also showed Codex inside the Arri Alexa SXT, the Codex Vault Platform and Review, Codex Review Live and Codex Media Vault. And at the Panasonic booth, Codex demonstrated its V-Raw Recorder for the Varicam 35. They were at the Fuji booth too, showcasing Codex Review Live with Codex Action Cam.
A number of current films were captured using Codex technology, including Mad Max: Fury Road, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Fifty Shades of Grey, San Andreas, Furious 7 and
Woman in Gold.
