MINNEAPOLIS — Creative studio Splice (www.splice.tv) has added sound designer/mixer Troy Hermes to its team. He will head up the company’s audio department while providing sound design and audio mixing services.
Hermes’ career began as an assistant engineer in Miami, which evolved into audio engineering for TV and radio. He moved to London and joined NBC as a freelance location sound engineer, and was later sent to Afghanistan and Iraq to record audio for news stories for NBC Nightly News, Dateline, MSNBC, and live shots with Tom Brokaw. He later spent time handling mixing and sound design for TV and commercials through London’s Crow TV. He also worked as a mixer/sound designer for the BBC show, EastEnders. Upon returning to the States, Hermes worked in NYC with agency Ogilvy & Mather. He also worked remotely with New York clients after escaping to Alaska.
