PLAYA VISTA, CA — VFX house Hydraulx has launched a new production stage and camera equipment rental company that it’s calling Hydraulx Filmz (www.hydraulxfilmz.com). The new division offers clients a sprawling 40,000-square-foot facility with 22,000 square feet of usable sound stage space, 25-foot-high ceilings, and 60-by-30-foot green screens. Hydraulx Filmz is also making available for rent significant camera and lens packages, which include nine Red Epic Dragon 6K cameras, four stereo-capable camera rigs with matching lenses and a QTake Video Assist System.
“We have decided now was a perfect time to expand our business model by launching a stage and equipment rentals business,” says owner/founder Greg Strause. “Our clients have the benefit of us owning everything here — we are literally a ‘one-stop shop’ solution to any production need…We have assembled everything imaginable here under one roof, for any kind of film, TV, commercial, music video, corporate, or multi-media production.”
The new Hydraulx Filmz facility also includes a DI projection theatre, connected via 10 gig fiber to the Internet, for color grading and watching dailies.
