CULVER CITY, CA — Casey Hupke has joined visual effects house Zoic Studios as art director for the studio’s commercial and games division. He brings nearly a decade of experience as a VFX designer/animator in the commercial space, having worked with studios that include Motion Theory/Mirada, Logan, The Famous Group and Imaginary Forces.
Hupke has a unique visual style that’s often characterized by computational particle physics. His work can be seen in campaigns IBM, AT&T, Coca-Cola, Exxon, Cisco and Buick.
“I was a fan of Zoic before I even really understood what visual effects were,” he states. “As a nerd, and an artist, it was impossible for me to resist coming on board as part of the family. The mastery of the craft, the history, the personalities all come together to form something I’m proud to be a part of.”
Hupke’s background is in computer science, and his aesthetic has a distinct applied math influence. He is skilled at compositing, design, and Cinema 4D animation. He has also worked as a creative director.
