ANAHEIM, CA — In a private suite, Dell (www.dell.com) previewed a new mobile workstation as well as a 4K monitor, both of which the company plans on delivering later this year. The M3800 is being touted as the “thinnest and lightest” mobile workstation ever offered.
The unit’s 15-inch screen offers 3200-by-1800 resolution and a contrast ratio of 1,000:1. It is made lighter than previous releases thanks to the use of carbon fiber in its construction, notably on its underside. Dell sees the M3800 as a mid-range release, complimenting its existing mobile workstation range, which includes the 15-inch M4700 and 17-inch M6700.
Dell also previewed a new 32-inch UltraSharp 4K monitor that offers 3840-by-2160 resolution. The unit features DisplayPort I/O and a wide viewing angle. The company hopes to deliver the 4K display in Q4.
