LOS ANGELES — Production company Motion Theory (www.motiontheory.com) has appointed Aric Ackerman chief operating officer, in charge of managing finances. He will also help drive business development and joint ventures across film and advertising sectors for Motion Theory.
Ackerman has over 15 years of experience in driving production, post production and business development efforts in advertising and film. He previously spent eight years as COO of @radical.media, overseeing a 300 percent business growth through acquisitions and added operations in four countries. Most recently, he co-founded and was CEO of Resolve Market Research until its sale. He guided the firm in delivering consulting in digital media and mobile services.
Currently, Ackerman serves on the board of trustees of the Motion Picture Pension and Health Plans. With Motion Theory, he will also serve on the board and manage finances at sister company Mirada, a studio co-founded in December 2010 by Guillermo del Toro, Motion Theory partners Mathew Cullen and Javier Jimenez, and Guillermo Navarro.
