NEW YORK — Manhattan Edit Workshop, which offers training for those in the post and content creation industry, has brought back its popular speaker series, “Inside The Cutting Room with Bobbie O’Steen.” Produced by Manhattan Edit Workshop and held at the French Institute, Inside The Cutting Room give audiences a look behind the scenes with accomplished visual storytellers.
The first installment of the series will be held on February 21, and will feature a conversation with film editor Andrew Weisblum, ACE, whose critically acclaimed work includes Moonrise Kingdom, Black Swan, Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Wrestler.
The Cutting Room 2013 Speaker Series will feature five distinct evening events this year, each running two hours in length. New to the series is “Inside The Cutting Room: Master Storytellers,” a full-day summit set to take place on June 8. The one-day event will present a collection of diverse panels spanning the art of editing film, episodic and non-fiction TV. It will also look at the techniques behind creating stunning visual effects and the vital craft of sound design. It will culminating with a gala reception and networking session.
For those who can’t attend the event, Manhattan Edit Workshop will stream each Inside The Cutting Room session live. They’ll also be made available as downloadable eBooks, complete with detailed backstories and interactive video clips.
Inside The Cutting Room events will take place at the French Institute, located at 55 East 59th Street. The first event, featuring Andrew Weisblum, will be held on February 21 from 7pm to 9 pm. Admission is $6.00. The first 25 Post readers that register will receive complimentary admission.
