BURBANK, CA — The 13th Annual Entertainment Technology Expo (ETE) is set to take place November 6th and 7th at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel. Presented by Createasphere, the ETE will feature technology demonstrations from more than 50 leading software and hardware developers, as well as a comprehensive lineup of workshops and master classes, panel discussions and speakers.
On November 6th, the event will focus on Acquisition, VFX and Production. The November 7th schedule will center around Workflow and Data Management, as well as New Technologies and New Talent. Event highlights include a series of sessions on emerging technologies led by representatives from Canon, JVC, Sony, Panasonic and New Blue FX. All are accessible to attendees with an expo pass.
LumaForge founder/CEO Neil Smith will lead a panel surveying best practices in 4K production. More than a dozen sessions across two tracts and four theaters are also part of the event. These workshops will be provide hands-on training in such areas as 4K production, on-set dailies processing, color management and time-lapse cinematography.
Post contributor Igor Ridanovic, who is a colorist and finishing artist with Kappa Studios, will lead workshops on color management and Avid’s new Media Composer 7. “People attend these seminars for a simple reason — they want to get better — and they do because each workshop is conducted in an exciting peer-to-peer environment,” says Ridanovic.
