HOLLYWOOD — Codex (www.codexdigital.com) will be at the 2013 Cine Gear Expo Los Angeles, demonstrating the latest features of its Vault, a location-based media management solution that’s been used on a number of feature productions recently, including Iron Man 3.
Cine Gear Expo is taking place from May 31 to June 2 at The Studios at Paramount Hollywood. Vault now supports Sony’s F5 and F55 cameras (including XAVC) via its Process Module. It also includes support for RedMags used by Red Epic and Scarlet cameras.
Codex will also showing a new internal recording module that it co-developed with Arri for use with the company’s Alexa camera. The XR Module is a side panel that replaces Alexa’s SxS Module. It allows internal recording of ArriRaw at speeds up to 120 fps (16:9) onto a fast 512GB XR capture drive. The module facilitates untethered shooting and a smaller camera configuration. Apple ProRes can also be captured to the XR drive for significantly longer recording times. All new Arri Alexa XT cameras will include the XR Module.
