Visual Data to open new Burbank facility

BURBANK, CA — Visual Data Media Services (www.VisualDataInc.com), a provider of integrated end-to-end post production solutions, will open a new facility in Burbank next month. The new space, set to open on January 2, will greatly expand the capacity of Visual Data’s current space.

Upon taking ownership of the Hollywood Way building earlier this year, the company gutted the space to its outside walls, allowing them to build a data centric facility. The new location spans 30,000 square feet and includes 20 suites for editing, QC, color correction, and captioning. Also featured are a highly secure data center, a large digital machine room, and an encoding center. The data center was built to support the company’s proprietary asset management system, which will simplify and refine distribution and archival tasks for clients. The new space will also offer two mix stages, an ADR stage, and a Foley stage that will be unveiled early in 2013.

“We simply had to increase capacity to meet demand, and moving was a long term investment we were willing to make,” explains
John Trautman, president of Visual Data. “When I first looked at the building, it was apparent that a lot of work would be needed to meet our goals, but I also knew that it presented an amazing opportunity.  We had the chance to gut a strong structure in a great location, and then visualize exactly how we would build out a space and infrastructure to meet the demands of today’s industry and tomorrow’s as well. A place that would be thoroughly outstanding for our clients and our staff to work.”

The company’s investment totals more than $11 million dollars.
