NEW YORK — Directing collective The Colony (www.the-colony.com) has formed a new sister post house called Afterparty (www.afterpartyvfx.com). Managed by a creative team of directors and animation directors, Afterparty integrates advanced VFX approaches for commercials, Web, television and film.
“Afterparty was created as a dedicated visual effects facility to support The Colony collective, as well as function as a VFX studio in its own right,” explains The Colony director, David Gaddie. “With our growing list of clients and projects, it is beneficial to offer a visual effects facility with which The Colony can partner and share resources in the process.”
By creating a collaborative synergy between The Colony’s live-action directors and Afterparty’s visual effects experts in a boutique atmosphere, The Colony is able to offer a live action directors’ collective with full visual effects support while Afterparty offers a range of VFX and post services, including color correction, conform, compositing, 3D and CG design.
“What makes Afterparty uniquely different from other VFX studios is the flexible relationship with The Colony,” says Gaddie. “You’re getting live action directors with a vision and combining that with post production support in one place. It’s the best of both worlds.”
Afterparty’s work includes completed ad campaigns for Hangar One Vodka, Airtel, Sony 3D and Fuji Xerox.
