LONDON — The Mill has expanded its 3D team with several recent announcements. Jordi Bares, The Mill’s head of 3D for the past 10 years, will now serve as 3D creative director. He was instrumental in building The Mill’s 3D team by developing the framework and technologies within the 3D department. He also led some of The Mill’s highest profile projects, including Sony Balls, Playstation
Mountain, Barclaycard’s
Waterslide, Nike’s
The Next Level and Guinness’
World. In his new role he will be responsible for long-term innovation in 3D. He will also continue to create and lead key projects.
Tom Bussell steps up to head of 3D. He started as a runner less than eight years ago and has gone on to contribute to Nike’s Write the Future, VW’s
Black Beetle, Audi’s
Economy Drive and Cadbury’s
Cocoa Beams. As head of 3D, Bussell will continue to lead creative work and will take charge of the day to day pipeline and management.
Robert Holmes will now lead The Mill’s gaming team as 3D gaming supervisor. Holmes has helped craft projects such as Axe Angels and more recently on gaming projects such as Codemasters
Bodycount and Bethesda/Splash Media’s
Brink. He will be a key figure in the ongoing development of the broader CG team.
And Jorge Montiel Meurer joins the studio as head of animation. He comes to The Mill from MPC, where he worked for five years as their animation supervisor. He will help drive and inspire the studio’s character animation creative talent.
