VANCOUVER — Autodesk (www.autodesk.com) is offering tailored education and training events for students and teachers at the SIGGRAPH show. Select presentations and interviews will also be streamed live from the Autodesk booth, along with Autodesk Master Classes, which will be available through the
AREA community section of its site.
On Sunday, Autodesk hosted an event for students at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel. The Autodesk Student Experience was supported by Dell and Nvidia, and included a series of workshops and presentations that were designed to improve student skill sets through use of Autodesk 3D animation tools, including Maya, 3DS Max and Softimage.
Autodesk's annual SIGGRAPH Education Summit took place on Monday at the same location. There, education professionals had the opportunity to network with one another, connect with Autodesk executives, and discuss industry trends and practices. HP and
AMD supported the event.
The Digital STEAM Workshops for Secondary Education also took place on Monday. The sessions offered teachers the opportunity to experience a project-based learning program. Designed for high-school students, the program explored the study of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, through realtime 3D games and easy-to-follow videos guided by industry professionals.
There will be a number of professional education opportunities available throughout the show. During show hours, Autodesk and AMD will be offering training on 3DS Max, Maya and Softimage software in the AMD booth. Free Master Classes will be available online beginning August 9.
