LOS ANGELES — PrimalScream Music & Sound (www.primalscreammusic.com), which creates original music and sound for many different forms of media, recently curated the soundtrack for the inspirational documentary
The Power of Two. The film details the bond between twin sisters Anabel Stenzel and Isabel Stenzel Byrnes, and their battle with the fatal genetic disease Cystic Fibrosis. The twins have become global advocates for organ donation, and the film offers insight into the chronic illness they face.
Marc Smolowitz directed the project, which is screening at events throughout the country this month. The screenings will include live performances by artists involved in the PrimalScream-produced soundtrack.
Creative director Nicole Dionne chose the songs for the film and also selected the documentary’s two composers, Tim Easton and Kyle Moorman. The bands and singer-songwriters represented in the film including Juliette Commagere, Tim Easton, Sara Melson, Gus Black, Bangkok Starters, Gram Rabbit, Pedestrian, Mindy Gledhill, Haroula Rose and Remy Zero.
“Given the Stenzel twins’ love of music, I knew that score and soundtrack were going to be essential parts of how I would tell their inspirational story,” notes Smolowitz.
“Everyone involved in The Power of Two shares a passion and commitment to the story and cause,” adds Dionne. “The artists were incredibly moved by the film and the new dimension created by their original song’s presentation within this compelling story. We look forward to applying our approach and philosophy to other film and episodic projects.”
