Moviola hosting open house, editor Chris Nelson on August 25
HOLLYWOOD — Moviola is hosting an open house on Thursday, August 25 at its Hollywood location — 1135 N. Mansfield Avenue. They will have all of our classrooms open, demonstrations, live one-on-one conversations with instructors and giveaways from 12-9pm. Refreshements will be served throughout the day.
At 12 noon they are providing an insider's look at FCP X, taught by Antonio Manrqiue. "We took the approach of doing an actual analysis of the program from an insider's viewpoint (Andrew Balis) someone who knows what the real world of editing, delivery etc. entails and analyzing the software from that approach," explains Moviola director of marketing Meghan Cleary. "We have actual workarounds and we talk about specifically who the program is good for."
At 7pm editor Chris Nelson (pictured) will take the stage and talk about his experiences as an editor for "Mad Men" and "Lost, discuss the art of storytelling and tales from his career, what it takes to be an editor today and more.
He will show clips from his shows, and offer personal insight into working with story, directors, actors, and finding a common visual language with which to tell the story. The presentation will be an interactive look into the world of editing and post production.
A question and answer session with Nelson will follow, moderated by Moviola VP of production, Johnathon Amayo. This free seminar is one of many seminars, panels and networking events hosted at Moviola (www.moviola.com).
