Blackmagic Design in Milpitas, CA, has released a new software update for its desktop video products that adds support for the new Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. The Desktop Video 8.2 software update includes support for Apple’s new Core Video and Core Audio processing pipelines.
Core Media a new way video hardware devices capture and playback to software applications. Now developers can design 64-bit video software and get high performance capture and playback to hardware, while having the benefit of high quality broadcast solutions for video with new Core Media technology.
The new software update supports all of Blackmagic Design’s DeckLink (shown), Intensity, Multibridge and H.264 Pro It’s available for free of charge from the Blackmagic Design Web support page ( www.blackmagic-design.com/support).
AlterMedia, Inc. in Los Angeles issued a heads up to its Studio Suite studio management software customers who are considering upgrading to the new Lion OS. Studio Suite (www.studiosuite.net), the company points out, runs in FileMaker and uses a number of third party plug-ins. “Not all of these have been certified to run in Lion yet, so as far as Studio Suite is concerned, we recommend that you not upgrade to the Lion OS until we give you the ‘all clear,’” notes the release.
