SUPER BOWL: 740 SOUND DESIGNS SPOTS FOR DOVE, AUDI, VIZIO & INTEL

The Intel Lunchroom spot promotes the company’s Intel Core Processor. Conceived by Venables Bell & Partners, the commercial features an Intel employee raving about the new processors, claiming they are the company’s greatest achievement. Behind him is a small robot named Jeffrey, who, until now, felt that he was pretty special. The spot has no music, just sound effects that reinforce the simplicity of a lunchroom, with utensils and plastic trays. Jeffrey is humanized through a collection of soft beeps.

The spot was produced by Imperial Woodpecker and was edited at The Whitehouse in Los Angeles. Play Studios handled mixing and Stefan Sonnenfeld of Company 3 was the colorist. Ring of Fire created the VFX.

Vizio’s Forge commercial was conceived by Venables Bell & Partners and uses the tag, “The Best of the Internet, Now On Your HDTV.” In it, a giant mechanical arm pulls content from different bins that rise into the night sky like an apartment building. Beyonce is yanked from one, a groundhog from another, and other diverse elements are pulled from their cubbies. All are dropped into a hole from which emerges the new Vizio flatscreen TV.

Independent Media shot the spot and Paul Martinez of Arcade Edit cut it as a :60. Eddie Kim created the sound design for 740. MassMarket handled the visual effects.

Audi’s Green Police promotes the environmentally responsible A3 TDI, which is able to make it through a checkpoint thanks to its clean emissions. Conceived by Venables Bell & Partners, and directed by Bryan Buckley of Hungry Man, the spot uses humor to illustrate the day when Green Police will be the ultimate form of law enforcement, making sure people are using low-wattage bulbs, non-plastic bottles, and efficient automobiles. There will even be zero tolerance for police officers drinking out of Styrofoam coffee cups.

The Mill/LA provided VFX and John Bolen of Play handled audio post. Stefan Sonnenfeld of Company 3 served as colorist. Rick Russell of Final Cut edited the spot, which is driven by Cheap Trick’s “Green Police” track. 740’s Andrew Tracy and Eddie Kim handled sound design.

And a new spot from Dove promotes its Men’s Body Wash. Men was created by Ogilvy & Mathers NY, with MJZ’s Fredrik Bond directing. Spot Welders’ Haines Hall cut the commercial, with Paul Sabater assisting. The commercial uses the William Tell Overture for its music. Devlin, Smoke & Mirrors and The Mill/NY all provided post services. Rommel Molina handled sound design for 740.
