RECENT HIRINGS AROUND THE INDUSTRY
Adam Isidore has joined The Mill NY as executive producer of brand partnerships. His career includes serving as VP/executive producer at Charlex, NY, where he ran the high-volume Verizon account, and VP/executive producer at BBDO NY, where he oversaw production on the Cingular Wireless (now AT&T) account. Isidore also ran his own production company, Red Barn Films, where he both produced and directed long- and short-form films.
A large part of Isadore’s focus will be finding ways to enhance partnerships. He also sees The Mill taking on more full-service brand work, including jobs that require creating content and developing new technologies for delivering content to the wide array of different screens consumers use.
Electric Picture Solutions, which just opened a new editorial facility in Santa Monica, has hired Charlie Mitchell to serve as VP of sales. He was a senior VP of sales at Origin Digital and also co-founded Streamsign Media, a full-service advertising and digital signage company. Mitchell’s career also includes time at Picture PipeLine and Runway Media. His new role will include launching services that address content for Internet channels and mobile devices.
Michael Bravin has joined Arri in NYC as vice president of marketing development for digital camera products. He will be based in the Burbank office and will be part of the marketing and sales team that focuses on the new Alexa digital camera line throughout North and South America.
Bravin has more than 30 years of experience in the production business. He was most recently CTO at Band Pro Film & Digital Inc. There, he was instrumental in expanding the market for HD technology for digital cinematography. His career also includes time as GM of California Communications, a Hollywood film and video equipment rental, stage rental and post production services company.
Shaley Brooks has joined Warner Bros. Motion Picture Imaging as a television colorist. He will service Warner Bros. Studios and third-party television clients, working on such titles as Warner Bros. Television’s The Mentalist. Brooks has more than 50 episodic television and television movies to his credit, including Desperate Housewives, How I Met Your Mother, Friends, ER and Battlestar Galactica. He was most recently a telecine colorist at Modern Videofilm.
Editor Joel Miller has joined the team at Nomad Editing Company. He moved to New York from his native London in 2007 to join Cut + Run's NY office and then moved to Cutting Room. While he will be based primarily out of the New York office, Miller is available via Nomad's Los Angeles and UK offices, as well as on location.
Digital media training center Future Media Concepts has added design veteran Katherine Houghton to its team. She brings a strong knowledge of Adobe tools and is certified to teach Acrobat, After Effects, Director, Fireworks, Illustrator, InCopy, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere. Houghton is also certified by Apple to teach its Aperture and Final Cut Pro applications. Based in Philadelphia, Houghton will delivers training courses at all six FMC locations and on its FMC|Online platform.
