VEGAS PRO 9 OFFERS RED SUPPORT
Vegas Pro 9 now offers direct browsing and import of XDCAM EX and AVCHD footage. Users can selectively import files and work with them natively. Pros can also compress to the MXF file format during capture from SD/HD-SDI sources.
In addition to supporting frame sizes up to 4096x4096 (4K), Vegas Pro 9 software offers improved performance when working with high-resolution still formats as well as added support for gigapixel-resolution images.
Six new effects plug-ins allow editors to create a variety of high-quality effects for video and still images. And on the audio side, Vegas Pro 9 now offers improved audio-waveform drawing during recording, which increases workflow speed.
Pricing for Vegas Pro 9 software is $699.95 ($599 as a download).
Sony Creative Software is also offering Vegas Pro Production Assistant, a group of plug-ins priced at $199.95. And for users looking to get up to speed on the new features, the company offers the Seminar Series, which is a $99 DVD covering the latest features.
