CINTEL PARTNERS WITH PANDORA, CINE-TAL ON SCANNING PACKAGE

Cintel has sold two systems already this year. The latest release includes improved 4K output of 5 frames per second (up from 3.5). The company has also partnered with several other manufacturers on a package – priced just under $500K – that includes the Millennium HD, a Pandora Pogle controller, a Cine-tal HD monitor, and its own ImageMill and Grace grain and noise reduction processors.

The ImageMill noise reducer has been upgraded to ImageMill2 and offers realtime SD and HD processing, and up to 15fps on film. V.2 includes a new network interface and file-based capabilities. Performance has been improved to realtime for SD, HD and 2K, and 10fps for 4K. Pricing is $52K and a scratch concealment option will be coming next year.

Cintel’s DittoEvolution scanner, which launched 2005, is also on display. The company has 25 in the market currently, with four sold in 2009 so far. DittoEvolution can serve as a 2K/4K, 16mm and 35mm DI and archive film scanner. New dual drive transport functionality provides pin registration for perfect image stabilization, necessary for DI work. Non-pin registration mode allows for work with archive material or shrunken and damaged film. And a fast-shuttle feature offer 100fps performance for EDL-based scanning. Options will be offered for the inclusion of grain and noise processors. Pricing is $185K.
