THE VOICE AND MUSIC CO. MOVES INTO NEW SOHO DIGS

When the lease for its previous facility expired, The Voice And Music Company called on acoustic and technical design company White Mark Ltd., to transform the new space into a multi-room facility that now houses two 5.1 dubbing theatres, two stereo suites and a music composition studio.

“The move to Soho Square gave us the opportunity to expand and modernize our technical facilities,” Coates explains. “We spoke to a number of studio design companies but chose White Mark on the basis of their extensive experience, particularly within Soho where they have built over 100 audio post facilities. They worked closely with our chief engineer Chris Morris, and Tom Livsey, who recently joined us from The Bridge, to create a fluid and flexible facility where projects can be easily moved from one studio to another.”

The Voice And Music Company operates on Digidesign’s Pro Tools platform throughout, and uses Dynaudio Air 20 monitoring in its main dubbings theatres. The spacious Studio One (shown) has a large vocal booth that can accommodate up to eight actors for film animation projects. Studio Two is equipped for Dolby Digital work, so that it can target the trailer and commercial markets.
