McGowan will serve as creative director of design, working
primarily out of the San Francisco studio. She reunites with the Radium team,
where she previously spent two years as a director/designer.
An
Ohio native, McGowan brings with her over 15 years of experience in motion
graphics. She spent time at Cincinnati’s Lightborne, and has directed and
designed projects for networks such as MTV, ESPN, Comedy Central, Fuel TV and
clients Adidas, Compaq, and Discover Card. Her credits also include music videos
for artists such as Sheryl Crow and The Heartless Bastards.
A founding member and creative director of WIG, the graphics
arm of Western Graphics SF, McGowan directed live action projects for LA
production company Picture Park and NYC’s Curious Pictures, where she created
spots under the mentorship of directing collective Tomato.
Inferno artist Joana Cruz was raised in Brazil, France and
the US. She studied in NYC and
parlayed her art, production and post background into learning Autodesk’s
Flame. She moved to San Francisco for her first job as a Flame artist at
Industrial Light & Magic's commercial division and over the past decade,
has contributed to projects for Nike, HP, AT&T, Starbucks and BMW.
