FELIX DESIGN HELPS WITH NASCAR BRANDING

To convey the soul of the auto-centric sport, Felix Design focused on the heart of the stock car - its high horse-powered engine - revealing its inner workings, including cylinders and pistons. 3D artist Maurice Caicedo used Softimage|XSI running on a PC to fly the viewer through the top end of the motor, which then disassembles to reveal the NASCAR Images logo.

The studio spent approximately one week in pre-production and three weeks on the animation. Style frames, storyboards and animation tests were initially created for review purposes and once an agreement was reached on the camera movement, engine animation, materials, timing and lighting, there were only minor changes to the final product.

Sound was mixed at NASCAR Images' facility in Charlotte.
