CREATIVE BUBBLE AWARDED SPORTS EMMY

The honor represents editor Chris Reinhart's second Emmy win and third Emmy nomination. This was VFX artist Miguel Oldenburg's  first Emmy win and fourth Emmy nomination. The ESPN open tied for the win in the Outstanding Open/Tease category with the NBA Finals. Other finalists included projects relating to the Masters Open, The AFC Championship, The Super Bowl and The Winter Olympics.

Reinhart notes that they were limited to three minutes for the open - only half the time of the HD Olympics submission. For the Indy 500 open, Creative Bubble took a retrospective look into the past of the racing tradition - going as far back as 1911 for the  inaugural event - while providing a mini biopic for favorites Al  Unser Jr., the Andretti family and Danica Patrick. Narration by Kiefer  Sutherland added to the drama.

"ESPN came to us with a need to present an open that would pump  everyone up for the race," explains Oldenburg. "The theme we came up with showcased each of the key racers looking back, through the actual trophy, at great moments in their career."

Creative Bubble used Autodesk Flame and Avid Symphony to complete the project, which can be viewed at: http://media.bubbleny.com/iapprove3/press/indy_2007.
