Estes career spans more than 20 years in technology- and
entertainment-related businesses. Prior to joining Avid, he was VP of global
marketing for Silicon Graphics, where he was instrumental in the company's
development of animation, special effects, video serving and digital asset
management solutions. Estes was also a founding member of RasterOps
Corporation, which developed one of the first color graphics boards and video
capture devices for the Macintosh II in the late 1980s.
"Avid Technology is a true pioneer; transforming the
way both professionals and consumers create, interact with and share
digital content," says Estes. "In addition to having the
industry-leading position in film, television, and video editing and content
management, the company houses a much broader portfolio of market-leading brands - like Digidesign, M-Audio, Pinnacle
and Softimage. Though the needs of Avid customers can vary
significantly, they all share a common vision: to harness new and powerful
technologies that allow them to unleash their talent and accomplish their
goals. With the continued, rapid evolution of digital content creation, mobile
content consumption, and social networking, Avid is in a unique position to
capitalize on many new and emerging business opportunities. I am energized to
be part of the Avid team and eager to help the company further elevate its
corporate brand identity in the global marketplace."
