Toxik 2008 will be available as a standalone product on both
the Windows and Linux operating systems when it ships in the fall. The
compositing tool offers improved interoperability with Autodesk’s Maya 3D
modeling, animation and rendering software, helping artists combine 2D and 3D
techniques.
In addition to its Maya interoperability, new key features
include Bicubic Warping, which allows users to manipulate image distortion and
perspective to create photo-realistic composites, and a versioning tool that
allows users to manage multiple iterations and outputs with support for
multi-channel open EXR import.
Pricing in the US is expected to be $3,485 for one creative
seat.
