The new release provides compression rates two to three
times faster than previous versions, and scaling up or down between SD and HD
is now twice as fast. Squeeze 4.5 now works natively on both PowerPC and
Intel-for-Mac using Mac Universal Binary code.
Other enhancements include the ability to burn DVDs and include
a menu and chapters. Another new feature allows Squeeze 4.5 to read and write
metadata input for QuickTime, Windows Media, Flash, Real, MP3 and MP4.
The application is available in three versions: Squeeze 4.5
Compression Suite ($499) handles all output formats except Flash; Compression
Suite PowerPack (Mac $799.00/Windows
$649) includes Flash output capabilities; and Squeeze 4.5 for Adobe Flash is ($249)
is designed specifically for users who are exporting only to Flash.
