The company - home to more than 100 Avid systems - has purchased numerous
Final Cut Pro systems for its rental inventory, all of which are currently
in-use. PostWorks has also integrated several more Final Cut Pro workstations
into its own workflow. Each system is equipped with an AJA Kona 3 HD/SD video
capture card.
"These new Final Cut systems
have quickly grown to become indispensable additions to our facility, and are
not only used in-house for format conversion and mastering, but also for
complete offline system rentals for our clients' long-term editorial
needs," says Rob DeMartin, COO/co-owner of PostWorks, New York.
According to DeMartin, file I/O is
a major service that PostWorks provides, in areas ranging from direct-to-disk
telecine, film scanning and element preparation for optical and animation
houses.
"The integration of the Kona 3 cards in these systems makes it easier for
our clients to maximize the benefits of working in HD without getting too
caught up in the seemingly endless list of HD formats," he notes.
PostWorks is currently supporting
editors on three independent features. The Pleasure of Your Company,
Trainwreck: My Life as an Idiot and Slippery Slope are
all being edited using Final Cut Pro.
