Hummel began his career as director of production services
for the professional film division at Technicolor Laboratories, and also worked
as director of project development for Douglas Trumbull's Entertainment Effects
Group, during the filming of Blade Runner. He
is an associate member of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC), and
is the editor of the 8th edition of the ASC Manual.
Most recently, Hummel was senior VP, production technology
for Warner Bros. Studio, where he was responsible for the studio's digital post
facility and was chartered with exploring areas of digital capture and digital
post production for motion pictures.
Before joining Warner Bros., he held executive positions such as senior
VP, digital cinema, for Sony Corporation of America; executive VP, digital
development for Technicolor; head of animation technology for DreamWorks SKG;
VP, technology at Disney TV Animation; and director of post production for Walt
Disney & Touchstone Pictures.
Starting November 28th, Hummel will also oversee the
company's full service camera rental facility in Woodland Hills.
