TALLAHASSEE, FL - Mike Vasilinda Productions (www.videoflorida.com) recently completed work on a :30 spot for Honda Generators USA and dealer Superior Power Systems & Controls Inc. The commercial is built on still images of Honda generators, the people who use them and the skilled team at Superior that handle generator service and installations.
Tim Wheeler, producer/director at MVP, says the spot was created using Autodesk Combustion V.3 and 3DS Max V.6. The commercial has a music video feel, with a nod to The Who via the spoofed "Talkin' About My Generator" track. Multiple planes of still imagery help to create depth in the spot and constant motion suggests the look of live action footage.
Quincy Griffith served as animator on the project with David Palmer handling still photography. David Mott provided audio post services.
MVP recently took delivery of an Avid Media Composer Adrenaline HD system and, at press time, had ordered a Sony CineAlta F-900 HD camera. The generator spot can be viewed on the studio's Web site.
