NEW YORK - Rhinofx (www.rhinofx.tv) has hired Lorin Munchick as in-house business development manager. Focusing on East Coast and European representation, Munchick will be working in-house alongside Jay Braddock, who shares East Coast repping responsibilties and reps Rhinofx in Texas.
The company is repped by Kelley Class on the West Coast. Liz Laine and Katy Richter of Chicago-based Liz Laine Reps handle rhinofx in the Midwest.
Born in New York City, Munchick was raised in the world of advertising production, with both parents involved in the industry during his childhood. After graduating from the University of Vermont, Munchick joined the NY office Hal Riney & Partners (subsequently merged into Angotti Thomas Hedge) to work on accounts such as Saab, Fuji, and Sunoco. After seven years at the agency, a desire to jump to the production side prompted a move to South Africa to become an executive producer at Velocity Afrika (founded by his father Barry Munchick, in 1991). Primarily responsible for securing international co-production relationships for Velocity directors, Munchick traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia, securing relationships with such companies as Filmmaster/Milan, Aoi/Tokyo, and Markenfilm/Hamburg. Munchick moved back to the City in 1999, and after a stint as director of sales for M-80 Films she joined Creative Management Partners. At CMP, he managed a diverse roster, which included Plum Pictures, Oil Factory, Serious Pictures, and Cyclops, amongst others. For the past three years, Munchick independently managed a group of production companies including Velocity, Plum and FM Rocks, through his firm, Tribe/NYC.
