QUIET MAN POSTS 'STATUE' ANTI-STEROID PSA

NEW YORK - Quiet Man (www.quietman.com), here, recently teamed up with agency BBDO, Major League Baseball and the Partnership for a Drug-Free America to produce a :30 PSA warning young athletes about the dangers of using steroids. "Statue" debuted during the broadcast of MLB's All-Star Game on Fox and features the iconic Discobolus statue, which begins to crumble with the mention of steroids.

Quiet Man built, rigged, textured, lit and animated the CGI model of the statue, spending over 200 man hours to complete the project in two weeks time. Softimage|XSI was used for all modeling, lighting, simulation and animation. Photoshop and Zbrush was used for texturing. The project was rendered using Mental Ray.

Johnnie Semerad served as director of animation on the project. Kris Rivel was CG supervisor/lead artist. Boris Ustaev served as lead animator with Anderson Ko, Michael Lasker, Sam Cuttriss, Steven Parish, Sandor Toledo and Jordan Sariego also providing animation. Foad Faridzadeh served as technical director.
