BURBANK - MGM Pictures is using MESoft (www.mesoft.com) technology to deliver high quality dailies to executives and professionals involved in the creation of MGM feature films. MESoft offers a dailies solution in its Select product line, which includes a realtime encoder, a secure server and client software for viewing and managing media.
By using MESoft technology, MGM dailies are sent electronically from the film lab to MGM screening rooms, executive offices, editing suites, and the production set for viewing on computers, TV sets, editing tools, and high definition projectors. Over the past year, the studio has used MESoft's dailies solution in the pipeline for the releases "Be Cool," "The Pink Panther," "Beauty Shop," "In To The Blue," and the recently released "The Amityville Horror."
Bruce Markoe, executive VP of feature post production for MGM Pictures, says, "MESoft had what we were looking for - the ability to deliver high-definition dailies anywhere, simple user interfaces including a TV remote, and a platform to support future workflow and distribution enhancements."
