ATLANTA - Video production/post house DV Illusions (www.dvillusions.com) celebrated its fifth anniversary by setting up an ongoing scholarship program at The Art Institute of Atlanta. The scholarship is designed to assist up-and-coming video and digital media students with their education.
The DVI Scholarship will initially award a $2,500 tuition scholarship to junior and senior students enrolled in the digital media production program at The Art Institute of Atlanta. The scholarship will be administered through the EDMC Education Foundation, which was developed to raise money and distribute scholarships for students who attend The Art Institutes, a system of schools with 31 locations across North America. Each location is responsible for raising its own scholarship funds - and all of those funds go directly back to the school for its own students.
"We want to see this grow, which is why we?ve set it up so that our clients can contribute to the scholarship," says DVI founding partner Matthew Lopes. "Eventually, we'd like to be able to award bigger scholarships or award them more often."
Scholarship application forms will be available to students beginning in the summer quarter at The Art Institute and are due in August. The recipient will be selected by the college's Scholarship Committee, comprised of faculty and staff, with input from the DVI Partners.
In related news DV Illusions recently expanded its studio with an additional 1,700 square feet of space that houses two new editing suites and a blue screen area.
