CORBIS ACQUIRES EMOTION

SEATTLE - Image provider Corbis has acquired eMotion, a developer of hosted solutions for managing and distributing digital media assets and marketing content. EMotion's services add to Corbis' existing image licensing, assignment & representation, and rights clearance services, broadening the complete solution available for editorial and commercial clients around the world.

Headquartered in San Francisco, eMotion offers a cost-effective technology platform for managing and distributing digital media assets. The company?s services are now available to clients through the Corbis Web site (www.corbis.com).

Jon Schupp, senior VP, sales & client services, will assume oversight of the eMotion business. Richard Fisher, CEO of eMotion, will transition to a strategic consultant role within the organization.

"Our clients are increasingly seeking ways to manage the still and moving imagery they use in their creative projects," says Mark Sherman, senior VP of assigment & representation and emerging businesses. "We are meeting this growing demand with the acquisition of eMotion's asset management systems, offering one of the industry's best tools for managing digital assets - whether they be images, footage, or related marketing material."

"Corbis and eMotion?s services are a natural complement," adds Fisher. "Now, clients can not only find millions of images in one place, but also can gain simple and economically efficient access to the systems required to collaborate, manage and share those assets."
