NEW YORK - Northern Lights Post (www.northernlightspost.com) has added noted comedy/lifestyle editor John Laskas to its roster. Laskas joins NLP following a year-long assignment at boutique ad agency The Concept Farm where he headed the post effort for ESPN's "ESPN25: The Season of the Fan" campaign. That project involved editing hundreds of spots and supervising the Avid Unity asset management system that housed 600 hours of source footage and graphics.
Laskas began his career in 1996 as an assistant editor at Crew Cuts. In 1999 he joined Isis Post in New York as an editor. There he began his long-standing creative relationship with director James Signorelli of "Saturday Night Live," editing many of the show's classic commercial parodies and short films.
Some of Laskas' best-known SNL work includes commercial parodies "Homocil," "Horse Glue," "Gatorade Love Bucket" and "Subshack," as well as a short film called "SNL FANatic."
In related news, Northern Light Post has named Rich Schafler of Schafler Artist Management, New York, as its East Coast commercial sales rep. Schafler will focus on furthering the company's commercial spot work.
