SAN FRANCISCO - Prism Sound (www.prismsound.com), based in London, is building upon the success of its ADA-8 converter with the introduction of the ADA-8 XR, a new A-D/D-A converter capable of working with sample rates ranging from 32kHz to 192kHz.
The new unit has enhanced clocking technology and is offered with a range of expansion cards, including Pro Tools HD, AES, SPDIF, DSD, Supermac DSD and Firewire. This will allow users to select their preference of software packages, including Nuendo, Cubase, Logic, Digital Performer 4 and Pro Tools.
The two-rack unit is expected to ship in December and will cost between $11-15,000 depending on the configuration.
