NEW YORK CITY — Bob Pomann, principal of Pomann Sound (www.pomannsound.com) in NYC, has set up four remote/home studios so that the facility can keep up with scheduled audio post work.
The Pro Tools-based systems were put in place shortly after the mid-March quarantine and make use of ConnectionOpen (https://www.connectionopen.com), an online recording platform that delivers high quality audio without latency or delay, as well as screen-sharing capabilities.
Pomann Mobile has been working with numerous clients during the pandemic, including Northwell Hospitals. The studio also partnered with Edelman and wellness-expert Shauna Shapiro, PhD, to create “The Mindful Shower” meditations for Schick Skintimate's new line of body care products. Working from his home studio, Pomann mixer Justin Kaupp remotely recorded, edited, mixed and composed music for three eight-minute audio meditations that focus on confidence, energy or relaxation.
For clients like Shauna, who are in need of pro recording gear for their voiceover recording, Pomann has put together a mobile package that includes a Rode mic and Focusrite interface, as well as an easy to understand set-up tutorial. By using ConnectionOpen, the team was able to seamlessly patched in creatives and producers from Edelman without sacrificing any quality.
